HSBC’s global charity partners, together with photographer Mustafah Abdulaziz, have documented images and stories highlighting the global water crisis. The Water Stories exhibition will be shown at Jack Poole Plaza in Vancouver, from 7-24 July, 2017.
This World Water Day, we are excited to confirm a three year extension of the HSBC Water Programme, and to celebrate the achievements of its first five years. The Programme has helped to build healthy communities and to develop economies in 43 countries worldwide, bring water to some of the world’s poorest people and protect globally important river and wetland habitats.
HWP is a five year, US$100m programme in partnership with Earthwatch, WaterAid and WWF, three of the world’s most respected environmental and sustainable development organisations, and over 60 other NGOs.
As a partner in the HSBC Water Programme, WaterAid is working to reach 1.1 million people with safe water and 1.9 million with sanitation in South Asia; Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and the West African countries of Ghana and Nigeria. WaterAid focuses on providing safe,clean water, sanitation and hygiene by working with local communities through in-country partners.
